Don’t Tell New Jeans Mama: Min Hee-jin’s $20M Gamble Crushed in Court

The courtroom drama between HYBE, Min Hee-jin, and New Jeans just hit another major legal twist — and yet again, it’s not looking good for Team Mama.

On June 12, the Seoul High Court rejected NewJeans’ appeal, reaffirming that the members cannot act independently or sign outside contracts without ADOR’s approval. That means their “NJZ” rebellion has hit a legal wall — and each violation could cost them 1 billion KRW per instance.

Meanwhile, Min Hee-jin is still fighting her own $20 million shareholder war against HYBE. She claims HYBE is obligated to buy her stock options since she made the request before she left the company in November 2024. HYBE says not really. Her shareholder agreement was canceled back in July 2024 when her treachery became etched by the evidence.

Will she get her $20 million? And how do the continuous losses by New Jeans in court affect her case. Because after all, it’s all about Mama and not New Jeans, right?
